First Kiss

What a great sketch from Carole on Friday Sketchers to kick start my crafting and thanks to Claudia and Kristine for using large bows which I think works great. The papers are Chatterbox and I've kept it very simple so not to outshine the fab image. Have realised though I don't have many large chocolate box ribbons, so will have to recified that soon.

Blasted lurgy is still hanging on with a throat that feels like I've swallowed a bag of nails but hopefully I will be able to catch up today with most of blogs and challenges.

Check out Bev's blog she has some great candy not only WOJ stamp, one that I don't have she has also added some of her fab crochet snowflakes.
Also Ila's blog has had 100,000 hits and celebrating with some candy too

Spoonful of Friday

Thanks for all your best wishes still feeling yuck but don't have the chills anymore. I don't advise to try and make cards though, I had this little lady ready and just needed some embellishments. So for quickness I punched some funky flowers out but now wish I had taken a bit more time to make them for fancy. The peel off sentiment was for quickness too but would they go straight, the air was blue. And I wish I hadn't bothered with the swirls round the image and someone stuck it on crooked the grass is going downhill. But I love this Sarah Kay stamp isn't she gorgeous and with that big hat you know she was meant for me. The sketch I used is from Spoonful of Sugar sketch from Michelle O.

Best Wishes

Ok own up whose given me the lurgy, in true John Travolta style I have "chills that are mulitplying" a sore throat and its TMI whats in my nose, yuck.
Lucky for me this little chap was already loaded on my PC its for Kazan sketch #14 on 2sketches4you. I've used my Stamps Away Owl on some BG I think its Offbeat and cut him out and layered him. The sentiment is Whisper Stamps and the lovely lace is from a Scrapagogo kit, not forgetting the Quickutz swirls.
Sorry Folks going back to bed.

Wednesday's delivery

So I'm on my travels through cyberspace when I find Tracey at diestodiefor has the new SK stamps, so off I went and had a look. I also found while there this fabulous stamp from Alota so it sort of fell in my basket with one or two SK and blow me down they were here the very next morning, so I couldn't resist so the planned card for Jake's Birthday changed completely.

My little nephew is totally potty about Bob the Builder, now I know this chap isn't Bob he is cute and I thought he would be more useful than Bob. The papers are K & Co and I've used Ismaki #41 sketch but I had to flip it and the number 2 is instead of the half circle. The number was cut out on the cricut. Hopefully Jake's parents don't check my blog but I know Granny does.

Lorraine from Malta sent me this tag for seven interest facts about me, it might take me a while to think of seven, I'm pretty boring.

Many thanks to Karin for this fabulous award and if you like sketches check out www.christmasandbirthdaycards.blogspot.com/

And many thanks to Anne too for this great Award.
Now if there is anyone that hasn't received these yet, well I'm sending them to you too.

Tuesday's Sisters

I love how these two look like sisters and I've used them for the Sketch Saturday #26, the papers from Craftwork cards, which are very pealescent, the lovely brads are from Poppicrafts. My images although 3D they are not technically decoupage because I don't really layer completely. I apologise for the colour of pics but I took them in my craftroom and there is no natural light. But you can see how I cut out the bits I want and using a grey pen I ink the edges to hide my terrible cutting out. The gloves were cut out cos I missed the stripe so I just stuck them on with the zig pen.

These are the tools of trade, the most important is the cocktail stick which I use with the silcone glue.

I used the embossing tool and pergamano blue mat to emboss the back of all the pieces.

Typically you can't see how I glue the coat, but basically I use the zig glue under the top of the coat so it would stick flat and put a couple of blobs of silcone under the bottom of the coats because all I want is a bit of dimension. The head is stuck with another blob of silcone and because its embossed it lays well.

So I do the same for Lizzie too except I put zig glue on the ends of hair so it lays flat too. Usually I make the card and layering the images on the actually card but this way I could photo as I'm going along so I had to wait for these lovelies to dry.

Before putting them a card that I made while I was waiting.

Doing it this way I avoid all the different layers you do in decoupage.

Monday Morning catch up

Amongst other things yesterday I did manage this card for Whiff Of Joy challenge which of course is a sketch. I didn't buy the chair the first time round then saw how fabulous she looks sitting on it and I knew I had to have it. The papers are BG but I've lost the front page and not sure what they are. The flowers have large centres to try and match the ones in the papers. Not sure what happened to her face she looks a bit poorly in the photo.

Just catching up with my journal, the wine is a bit obvious and the umbrella one is a bit boring but it manages to get all my brothers and sisters in one place, along with their families.

And a big Thank you to Joey, Carol and Michele because they sent me this fab award, so sending it Annie, Suzanne, Beth, Louise, Gill, Nessy, Debbie and Nikki

So the CJ is ready to go and I've another project on the boil but is going to take a while to do but I still have some more Christmas cards to do too.

Catching up Sunday

So a bit of a catch up day, here's the cards we made with Francoise Read yesterday and many thanks to Nannette for a fab lunch, lovely hot soup just what you need on a chilly day. So two reasonably quick cards and a lovely chat with Francoise.

Here's my V for my A-Z journal, the papers are from a Scrapagogo kit. I've also finished U and W just need to photo them can't believe it coming to an end although the letters left have to be the worst ones.
And I've received this from Ali from Stamping Heaven many thanks Ali. The sentiment for this

The award has such a great sentiment behind it and here is what it says:This blog invests and believes the PROXIMITY - nearness in space, time and relationships! These blogs are exceedingly charming. These kind blogger’s aim to find and be friends. They are not interested in prizes or self-aggrandizement. Our hope is that when the ribbons of these prizes are cut, even more friendships are propagated. Please give more attention to these writers! Deliver this award to eight blogger’s who must choose eight more and include this cleverly-written text into the body of their award.

Haven't had time to check out who hasn't received it yet so will be doing it later. I have some serious crafting to do today like a CJ that needs to be posted tomorrow.

Chilly Saturday

This card looks a bit too busy, but I think its starting to grow on me. The sketch is from Friday sketchers this week from Bea and I used WOJ snowlady, I choose her especially because I knew her I could layer her although its not so obvious with the photo. The papers are papermania, various snowflakes dies and the round sentiment is magnolia.
edited if you click on pic you can view it much better.

So today I'm off to Art and Authors in Fleet to take a class with Francoise Read, I believe we're using the reindeer stamps, then I'm at my Sis waiting for hubby to finish working with BIL. Mmmmm I think I'll take some card and an inkpad and raid my Sis stamp collection, second thoughts, no I won't, she has J this weekend he might want to help and at only two I think there will be more ink on him then the stamps.

P.S.

Found it, this should of been with the post below and the inspiration for it too. But could I find it first thing, it should of been in my christmas card folder and truth is.................................................

wait for it,

it was there just couldn't see it.

I made this with the sketch on Everybody-Art-Challenge in mind and also the challenge on Papertake weekly was for Let it Snow, so between the two I came up with this card. It should of have been nice and easy but I struggled a bit to get the right size on the cricut and I wasn't happy with the size of the S because it looked smaller than the other letters when I did it the same size so I settled for larger. The letters are all cut from Base Camp Cricut cartridge.

Friday's Post

I'm still trying to make quick cards, so I thought that some word ones will be quick and for Snow obviously use a snowflake using glitter card for the O. It was saves me from being smothered in glamour dust, no matter how careful, I am sure most goes over me and I'm still shaking it off days later. Back to the card, the cardstock is BG Figgy Pudding and I followed Ismaki sketch this week from Isa whose leaving the UK soon. I tried the netting with bits of blobs on for snow at the back you can't see it that well but its stuck there and there was no chance of being able to change it.

Busy Thursday

I'm not panicing, who am I trying kid but thanks to CPS and their sketch #91 I have another 7 christmas cards. I've used Spiral Whisper Santa stamp designed by Janet, he colours up fairly quickly with prismascolours and the cutting out isn't to tricky either. The papers are Sandylion and a bit of glamour dust to give Santa a sparkle, six cards done in the time it took to do the card below.

High hopes challenge was for brads and buttons and while hunting for a brad earlier I found these letter brads and thought they would work with Juggles. The papers are a My Minds Eye kit and the buttons were in my stash.

Here's the seventh Christmas card, I had these bits of card and the snowflake left over from another project. Although you can't see it but the snowflake is cut out with glitter card and the cuttlebug cut it without any problems at all. You can see the cute brad from Poppicrafts which I think is where I got the ribbon from, the papers are Figgy Pudding from BG.

Good Grief I made 8 cards altogether thats got to be a first.

Lavender Cards

There's a fantastic sketch on Magnolia V Stampavie and I decided to use this cute Tilda but I wanted to tear white layers for snow and if I just cut her out you wouldn't see the swirls, so I made the background and stamped Tilda on it, knowing of course with all the bumpy layers it wouldn't stamp well so I cut out another Tilda to sit on top of the image and layered Tilda as normal, that way you could still see the swirls. I used my last favourite piece of BG LillyKate, its all gone now. I've also had to use a mirror image of the sketch because Tilda is looking to the left and she wouldn't look right using the sketch as it was.

I've been really good all my Christmas Cards have inserts in now and I've done a count and I'm still short. I really need some quick and easy cards and thin cards, my cards do tend to be a bit bumpy.

So with the help of Laura's sketch #13 on 2 sketches 4 you this card was made along with a couple more. I used lavender Brilliance ink to stamp the words and couldn't match the ribbon so I used the inkpad to colour a white ribbon. For some reason the word panel looks crooked but I've check the cards they definitely straight in real life!

I couldn't believe it but Moni (nixe07) sent me an award, if you haven't already you must check out her blog, her colouring is breath-taking. Now I have to sent this on to 5 more blogs so I better go have a look around to see who hasn't received it yet.

Monochromatic

If my understanding is correct Monochromatic is the use of two colours, for example black or white, so I apologise if I've misunderstood the challenge on Penny Black Saturday because I've used Turquoise and white. Saying that though I found it brilliant for making quick cards except for putting the gems on the PB Fantasy Tree, I kept moving them around. I don't know whose papers I've used and a selectection of gems, pearls and peel offs.

And if you make one why not make a few more so I've used different paper and because I was making them for my Christmas cards I didn't worry about using an extra colour. The papers were some Paper Adventure that I've had for ages, Ok years then.

And look what Joey sent me, I know I have had it before but it still a brilliant feeling when another crafter appreciates your blog.

I have to check around to see who hasn't received this yet.

Another week

Another cute Tilda this time using Craftwork papers and Sketch Saturday#25. I've change the heart into a bell which was also in the stamp club to match the little bell Tilda was holding and lots of matting and layering.

The crop was a laugh and I still managed to do another page for A-Z journal just need to photo it can't believe that there is only another 3 letters to do now. But working out the weeks before Christmas I really need to get on top of these Christmas cards, their inserts especially and I need to make some tags for the presents so I can wrap them and I usually have all this done by the time we go up to see MIL which is just over a couple of weeks.

Friday Sketchers Skaters

I can't help it but I'm loving the new Magnolia stamps aren't these two so cute.I followed Murmur's sketch for Friday Sketchers although I have turned it and the buttons have been replaced by the acetate with stickles on which I used for the ice rink. The embossed snowflakes have also been glittered but photo's don't always show it but I can promise you its there and all over me too. The ribbons are from Poppicraft, papers Doodlebug again and all the stamps are Magnolia.

Blogger is being a pain everytime I replace a word or correct a spelling its' writing over what I've already written and it driving me potty. So I'm not checking for typos or just plain bad grammer.

Today I'm off to Scrapbuddies at Mychett Community Centre it should be a quiet one because FairyKaren is at Scrap-a-ganza and even though Valelady is in Holland she isn't with Karen but hopefully will be sitting down with Janet to maybe start a crop blog to keep everyone up to date with the crops etc.

Kissing couple

I couldn't resist playing with the Stamp club, I especially think these two are cute. By the time I had extended the bench, the image was huge and would only work on a large card and it didn't really work with lots of layers so I get it simple and let the stamps do the talking. All the stamps are Magnolia and the papers are Doodlebug. This card took a while with all the colouring and cutting out, hubby promptly put his foot in it and said after Christmas it would end up in someones bin. Hopefully the person I've earmarked this one for will appreciate it and keep it for a while. Since I've only use mostly red and green I can put this one forward for the Cute Card Thursday challenge.

TGIF

I know this isn't a card for Jake for a start there's a girl on it, but I was just getting ready to colour the images when the Postman arrived with the Winter Stamp Club from Magnolia and they are fabulous possibly the best kit ever. So I quickly mounted them on that awful stuff EZ mount, I decided on this little cutie because she would work everyday too as you can see she's on a childs card especially for spoonful of sugar challenge. It's a shame but the photo colours have gone a bit weird looking and the papers from a Scrapagogo kit don't look as nice.

Not sure I'm going to be able to resist the rest of the stamps, theres a couple skating and a pair ready to kiss under the misletoe.
