Foxy Christmas

Another card inspired by the very talented Brigit using the Penny Black foxy transparent set. Since there was nothing under his feet I grounded him using a Hobby Art stamp which I think was suppose to be at sand to a beach scene but it looks like snow.
I couldn't be asked to hunt for snow stamp so I used the Stampin Up grungy set and stamped round the edges using Versamark then added WOW bright white powders. It was then I blended colours over the snow, once happy I then burnished with a dry soft cloth to bring out the snow.
It was only then I stamped the sentiment and then layered images.
Oh I nearly forgot I used the Bundle of Stitched Shapes from Simon Says Stamp before I did anything.

Born to be Wild

This is the card that has been discarded for BIL birthday, it touches my sense of humour especially if it had gone to plan I would have a 60 today placed on it somewhere.
The papers are some old Echo Park ones and I paper pieced the balloon with added twine which was tricky to place since I had to layer the image then lift the hand to place underneath.
I'm pretty sure I used a sketch but I don't recognise it so I obviously started with a sketch and then it must have gone it own way.
The Born to be Wild sentiment is a stamp that I've had for a long time and it belongs to another old man image stamp who looks this happy.
A bit disappointed I didn't get into my craft room yesterday but I did manage to finish another granny square throw and now I started another.

Merry Christmas

I'm still thinking of Christmas card as you can see and this card gave me the chance to use the Merry Christmas die from Memory Box.
The sweet image is one of Mo's Snow Pals and I've used the LOTV papers. The border is from Memory box now a couple years old but I still love it.
I used some glitter card for some snowflakes and even the top layer of the sentiment. An awful lot of fun flock and flowersoft to finish of the image.
I've been keeping up to date with cards and have a few in my drafts but priority is given to DT and Birthday cards. I've just had to make some mens cards, one was deemed inappropriate so another was made but more of CAS style.

I always seem to find the Anything Goes challenge week my mind goes blank so I allowed this card to make itself.

Oh dear when I made the card the Lawn Fawn Penquin was still in stock, I knew the Mini Snowflakes were sold out again, they are so popular they fly out each time they arrive back but the papers are used are Lawn Fawn Lets Polka in the dark. Love that these papers have some Christmas papers and not just for Halloween.

The Stitched hills and slopes on the main card and the tag are both Simon Says Stamps die and the main body of the card, along with the tag was using Stitched Bundle of Shapes. To finish I used the Winter Friends set

Not a bad card considering I didn't have clue what to do and went with the flow.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

November Kit

When I first saw the Simon Says Stamps November kit my eyes went straight to the paper with the cute fox on and I decided when I had a chance I would cut him out.
I did find it hard cut into the pretty Autumn paper but the sketch on Splitcoast Stampers card sketch SC562.
The grass is a MFT die and although it looks crooked it more to do with the photographer than the card. Everything for my foxy card came out of the kit even the green card for grass and the die was the only extra thing I used.

I just called

This weeks challenge on Everybody Art Challenge is to Stamp, all my coloured images apart from this one are digis so I was lucky to find this one ready to be made into a card.

Of course this little cutie is from LOTV and so are the papers. The card started as a sketch from Sketch Saturday and then it went it own way and doesn't look like it at all.

I used my favourite Memory Box leaves Lavish Branch and the flowers are the Martha Stewart Hydrangea punch and for quickness I used the Craftwork Cards sentiment.

Do pop over and check the team and hope you can join us this month.

Snow Brolley

I CAS card using a LOTV penquin although I've just realised now looking at it that it needed a sentiment will track it down in my Christmas card pile and add perhaps a craftwork card printed sentiment for quickness.

I had hoped to used some scraps of some old Christmas Doodlebug but ended up using one piece and still left with scraps I don't seem able to chuck in the bin.

Once again I used some fun foam for my snowflakes these ones are Mini Snowflakes from Lawn Fawn, you would have thought they would work but they work great has you can see.
I used Stickles for the printed snow and my fun flock with flowersoft for the bobbles on his scarf.

This week I need to get on top once again to my DT cards for next week this week is sorted and I even have a Penny Black card for this Saturday, I've also got a dreaded mans card that I need to take with me at the weekend to MIL.

And again 60th

Definitely getting cleaner with my 8inch album which is about time. The Palm Tree in the above layout is from MFT and the saying is from Simon Says Stamp.

The corrugated card was in the Fancy Pants Collection it makes a great sea, along with the MFT boat. Leaves from Memory Box really wanted to use the Simon Says Stamp Cluster Leaves but seemed to have mislaid them, of course found them now the page is done. The relax is a Simon Says Stamp die.

Hexagons cut out and added a anchor from Memory Box.

Same Memory Box leaves but this time I used the Stitched Daisies from Simon Says Stamp. We always call the Fort a castle which  we are often reminded its a fort.
By the way its not your eyes going funny its the photographer (me).

Oh no not that Robin again

Sorry I'm late by the time my robin was ready for the fun flock and flower soft for his hat it was dark so I was waiting for daylight.

My little Robin is off the Jolly Friends Clear Set did warn you I had stamped and coloured a few but this is my last one, the one left fell on the floor and my office chair rolled over it!

I had been looking through my random Christmas Stamps and found this old Hero Arts background stamp. The holly is from Impression Obession and is very tiny as you can see, just as well I used a old Marvy Pen (possibly about 10yrs old) which is now a bit on the dry side and it made a mess. With the red pearls its looking like a happy accident!!!!

The 145 sketch from CAS(E) this sketch had been in my head ever since I saw the Hero Art Stamps so even though a couple of weeks late so glad I managed to make the card now maybe it will get out of head.

Merry Kissmass

I fancied the sentiment in the Clearly Besotted Merry Kissmas set and I knew I wouldn't be able cut out the mistletoe so I got the dies has well.

I followed the sketch from a couple of weeks ago on Splitcoast Stampers SC561 but decided to emboss the white mat but I still haven't found my Falling snow embossing folder so I used the Simon Says Stamp Falling Snow stencil. I did remember to stamp the sentiment before embossing.

Instead of struggling to find paper to match the green I used the Simon say Stamps Diagonal Stripes background stamp, I did use a misti so I could get good coverage.

High Hopes Snowman

I didn't work out that when I used last weeks Sketch Saturday Sketch that I would forget that I post it nearly a week late. Anyway it does mean another Christmas Card in the box, once I do a few sorting out jobs it will be the dreaded inserts and a count to see how more I need to make.

I've used some new Doodlebug Christmas paper, love the bright colours which all work with my snowman's jumper. The Snowman is a High Hopes one it was nice to colour him up reminded me of some more High Hopes Snowman stamps that haven't been used in a while.

The sketch was quite plain so added so fun foam snowflakes and to help it be a quick card I used Craftwork card sentiment oval with added punches.

Bags are unpacked at last and I brought some more magnet sheets from ebay so I managed to sort more dies out. Today I might venture into my craftroom to make a card even if it a CAS one.

Wrapped Up

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Color Inspiration Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
This week the challenge is

WRAP IT UP

You can make a gift wrapping, a tag, a card with some ribbon or twine wrapped around it, or maybe you have another idea of your own! We are looking forward to seeing what you make!
We are showcasing MAY ARTS PRODUCTS this week. You don't have to use them to join in but if you have some we would love to see them used
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

Apologies for the colours on the card not sure my camera liked the kraft card, annoying I loved how this turned out.
First of all I used the Maya Arts Natural Twine to wrap round the sentiment mat and to connect my mittens.
Since I love how white and kraft look together I used WOW white embossing powder with the Simon Says Stamp Big Holiday Wishes. I used this stamp for the sentiment and mittens which I cut out by hand.
My Scallop mat is from Avery Elle Sweet Scallops die set and to finish with Abby Snowflake that I cut out of fun foam.

Poinsettia Blessings

CREATE-JOY-600x264-Blog-Hop

I was lucky to be sent this new Holiday Poinsettia die from Simon Says Stamps but I was busy making cards in advance because I knew the first few day after the retreat I wouldn't be up to doing much. But my fingers were itching to see how it worked.

First I cut out in green and cut out some of the leaves and cut out in red and place them in the missing places. I then cut out in gold and I only used the outline to place as the next layer. I then cut another one in read and I stuck it on a bit of scrap card and cut around the the little flower which I place of centre. The little tiny centres were die cut too.

To make the actual card for the poinsettia, I used the Simon Says Stamp Tiny Alphabet background with a bit of torn paper to placed so I only stamp the corner and to finish with a gold Simon says Stamps Christmas Blessing.

Back this at 2pm with this week Simon says Stamp Wednesday Challenge card.

Christmas Fiddler

I thought I had schedule this post then I realised that it was a card I made last minute for this weeks Everybody Art Challenge which was for a Sketch.

First confession I have cheated a little with the sketch, there's two mats at the edge of the image mat and I just so happened to used the fence has one of them and I took it over the image mat. The second one is the lamplight but I'm glad to I did cheat a little because I like how it turned out.

The papers are last years Simple Stories Christmas papers and my image is from Sassy Cheryl but I think I brought it when she discontinued a lot of images and sold them at a dollar.

The poinsettia is a die from Simon Says Stamp called Poinsettia Parade and I'm pretty sure the holly is from Penny Black die but I think they've retired it now.

Do check out the team and I hope you can join us this week.

I've still haven't tidy up my scrapbooking bags, I will need to do this even if I'm card making but I think today will still be a rest day. I had a brilliant time and pleased with what I managed to do although Hubby's book still isn't done yet but a few more pages added.
Thank you everyone for the fabulous Birthday Wishes

Hobson

Mo Manning has been doing some drawings for Inkoctober although not planned for the Digital Shop, demand for them has been so great that she has put some in her shop and Hobson on Halloween is one of them.
Don't you just love this goblin well my DD does she now has this door hanger I quickly made. I just like to add she's already had her thirtieth birthday.

I made the background using a circle disk and the Stamping up Lovely as a tree.

Bats and spider are both cut from the Cricut with some added googly eyes and the top was using a Poppystamp die and trimmed round the card.
Happy Birthday Hubby

60th Scrapbooking

I finally got around to photographing more pages of Hubby's Birthday book, my brief to be CAS is not working out that well!
Since its my birthday I thought it was only right to show the pages I did for my birthday in Spain the same time of Hubby's 60th. Not sure I've mentioned this but Hubby's birthday is the day after mine, we are both Librans and both indecisive its a wonder anything gets done in our house.

I quite like gummy sweets and my BIL and Sister thought it would be entertaining for me to have a sweet cake for my Birthday.

Now a couple of pages of some of our favourite places we ate at. It was quite late in the season so some restaurant had already closed for winter.

Still loads to do, once done I shall only have the Harry Potter's Tour to do and 2013 will be finished with and onto 2014.

Christmas Mice

I've recently brought some Penny Black clear stamps and they are not a bad size for layering so I've been trying them out. Last week was the cute robin this week its mice.

I've been inspired from an amazing crafter Brigit if you haven't discovered this incredible talented card maker I recommend you check out her blog.

They are both almost the same except one I have used a Music stamp from MFT and stamped the sentiment directly to paper.
Short and sweet blog post but I shall be no doubt be getting ready for my cooked breakfast and days worth of scrapbooking.
