Wedding Pocket Pages

They may look like pocket pages but they are actually stuck on a bit of 12 by 12 card, I used the pocket pages sleeves to arrange the photos but to put in my album they go in a normal 12inch sleeve but I still have the pocket page effect.

I brought the Simple Stories paper collection for these wedding photos because they fitted perfectly for this beautiful summer Wedding.

I've used the Cheery Lynn leaf swirl with my retro flowers punches and the Creative Impression Ivy die. I carried that over onto every page to bring all the pages together.

Cheers

I was in a bit of strop making this card I wanted to use the stitched fishtail banners but I can't find them anywhere. They're in a long cream envelope and I know they made their way back from the retreat weekend. This meant the idea in my head was never allowed to work out and I couldn't think of anything else.

You couldn't get any simpler. The image is of course Penny Black To a Full Stocking and I've used a new stamp that was set ahead of Simon Says Stamp Believe in the Season but arrived when I came back from the retreat its call Christmas Essentials but what a perfect sentiment for my critters. I've now got the dies for this stamp set and maybe a few new ones.

I've used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles, just as well since its so plain. A bit of Doodlebugs twine job done. Well almost I had to layer them too.

Sorry this was a bit late was in two minds to bother to blog the card, then it wasn't photo and typically the last few days have been sunny and the day I want to photo its dark, dank and dreary.

Chill

Well its been a pants week card wise, Monday we made a start on the Christmas present list. Tuesday was my Blood Pressure Review which I combined with the flu jab, followed by kettle buying since our old one has a leak and a trip to Tesco for some shopping that wasn't available at Sainsbury. By Tuesday night I was feeling a bit under the weather which carried on to Wednesday.

At least I woke up this morning feeling a bit better but its another busy day so no card making today lets hope I'm up to making a couple cards tomorrow or shock, horror I will buying Christmas Cards.

At least I managed to make a Mo Card with Chill, the papers are Doodlebug. The curvy stitched scallop is from Simon Says Stamp and the snowflakes are cut from fun foam with Lawn Fawn dies. The sentiment is LOTV and I used a square punch to make my sentiment banner. A bit of ribbon and I'm almost done.

When all is dry I added the glamour dust to the breath cloud, when that dry I then add the fun flock and flowersoft to my cuffs and hat.

Lawn Fawn

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Think Pink Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher.
We are saying a sad farewell to our lovely teamie, Jennifer, this week. We will miss you, and your wicked sense of humour, lots but would like to wish you the very best of luck for the future xxx
This week the challenge is

Anything Goes

This week we are showcasing Lawn Fawn Products  You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store

I'm not sure if this little chap is a bunny or what wearing antlers but whatever he is, he is cute. He is from the Lawn Fawn Believe in Yourself stamp and die set.  I stamped and coloured three little chaps but only had time to make two cards.

The first one was very simply done, the circle mat was cut using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Circle and I used their Hills and Slopes to make the small background in the centre.

The papers I've used for both cards are Doodlebug Here comes Santa Claus. The sketch is last weeks Freshly Made Sketch. Finished with the Simon Says Stamps Stitched Rectangles, I do like make CAS cards with the stitched mat makes it look finished.

Nearly forgot my little Simon Says Stamps Sketch Trees that I used with fun foam.

This time I used the Sketch Saturday latest sketch again with the Doodlebug papers, Sketch Trees, Stitched Circles and Hills and Slopes.
But this time I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banner for my sentiment which by the way is from Simon Says Stamp Christmas Toys. This time I used an embossing folder from Sizzix called Christmas set #3.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Tealight

I'm in charge of posting the new challenge on Everybody Art so I schedule that but forgot to do mine.

Making a tealight isn't my thing, I make cards or scrapbook, but a lightbulb moment said why not use the Stamping Up die. The biggest problem with that I needed two to be exactly the same.

To make sure I cut two bits of card, first off tried cutting two together, trust me it didn't work no matter how many times I ran it through the bigshot. The next step was to score two lines to create right angle and then I placed the die in the corner and repeat on the second this worked out make better.

I added the vellum before scoring down the centre then using thin red tape stuck together. I have to say I cheated there is no bottom, I place the tealight cover over the top but I do advise to buy battery ones I wouldn't trust leaving it over a real candle.

Harry Potter Scrapbooking

Finally got my Harry Potter layouts done, although I'm not keen on the papers I chose. I went for the aged look because I had a job to find some that actually went with all my photos.

Very simple layouts and the fabulous Hogwarts Shield was given to me by a lovely new friend at the retreat.

The camera and clapper board dies are from Cottage Cutz and the small film strip could possibly MFT but the packaging has disappeared. At least now I can say that 2013 is definitely finished.

Doggy Stockings

I can't believe I've made one card this week, I have all my DT cards for next week to do yet. I'm not sure what I was thinkin when I placed all my card mats off centre including the sentiment, probably trying to prove something but that part of my card is bugging me.

Now I've used the Penny Black Jolly Critters but I have to confess the doggy and the stocking were connected but I got my scissors and they parted ways. This meant I could stamp as many stocking has I fancy without have to stamp part of the dog. This allowed me to make several to make a banner.

The stripy paper is from a Doodlebug Here Comes Santa Claus and I used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Squares to make frame and card mat. And yes that is that sentiment again from Christmas Toys you know I love it.

Well the cards are not going to make themselves while I sit here on the PC.

Blog Hop

Not only is this another Halloween card its my theme for the Blog Hop. This is my final Halloween/Fall card I really need to sit down and make those pesky Christmas Card especially the thin ones for the post.

So back to my card, I've used the Lawn Fawn Lets Polka in the dark, using the Simon Says Stamp Hills and Slopes. The fences I've used recently and they are from Impression Obsession called Country Fences.

The tree is Memory Box Birch Tree, the bats and spiders are also Memory Box, finally the grass round the tree is MFT. My brilliant image is Hobson on Halloween which you can find in Mo's shop.

Since I'm the first point of call on Mo's Blog Hop  and now you need to Hop, Skip and Jump over to Olesya.

Don't forget there are two $5 gift vouchers to spend in Mo's shop to be drawn from the participating Dream Team Designers comments so make sure you comment on everyone in the blog hop posts.

Think Pink

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Totally Resistible Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

Think Pink

As you know October is breast cancer awareness month. Apart from using some pink on our creations we all need to have a good feel of our breasts and if we notice anything unusual then we need to get them checked by a Doctor. If you are due for a Mammogram, make sure to make the appointment!
This week we are showcasing Pink And Main Products  You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

You may recognise the sketch because I used it for my Halloween card a couple of weeks ago. So I layered the Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plaid and their Beachside Pint Size .

I then used Simon Says Stamps Bundle of Shapes rectangle to make the main mat and I then cut the Avery Elle Sweet Scallops to finish it off.  My border is Simon Says Stamps Scallop Stitched Borders and the strip is a die that comes with Bundle of Shapes. They both needed a join which is hiding behind my penquin.

Apart from the actual Penquin and the wheels of the truck everything else was paper pieced using the Lawn Fawn papers. The stamp set I used was Pink and Main So Cool and the sentiment is from Simon Says Stamps Uplifting Thoughts.

But there was too much white space, well in my eyes there was so I got the the Simon Says Stamp Holiday Shapes and cut out some tiny stars out the scraps of paper that was left.

I want to thank everyone for the lovely Birthday Wishes and a big Happy Birthday to Hubby for today.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Sketch

Mmmm I thought I scheduled this post, good job I checked my blog. I was away at the weekend at a The Scrap Cafe Retreat and now I'm home I've crashed and burned. Bags have been emptied but it all has to be put away and layouts to be photographed before placing in albums.

Meanwhile I thought this would post itself, its my favourite challenge of a sketch on Everybody Art challenge

My little chap is a LOTV stamp and I'm really pleased I now have the digi much easier on my hands. I have to stamp about five or six times to get all the parts to layer the image, trouble is I don't think I can part with the stamp.

The papers are Doodlbug and the clouds are La LaLand, the sentiment is an old Stampin Up stamp. The twine has cheekily replaced the band across the sketch. I didn't like the plainness around the outside so I added some faux stitching in a white pen but it didn't quite work but it had to stay.

I still not planning on doing too much today, maybe put things away and maybe colour some images ready for some challenges next week.

Autumn Photographer

Whoo Hoo my post is at the right time but thats probably because I'm not here and my post is scheduled.

So we have a mid month reminder for Autumn colours on Penny Black Saturday Challenge. This time I've used Penny Black Snap Shot and the papers are Echo Park Fall is in the Air.

I've used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Scallop Border dies and the Impression Obsession Leaves. The fabulous acorns are in the Simon Says Stamps Card Kit for October, they so cute.

So where am I. I'm at the Hilton at Bracknell not too far away and I'm scrapbooking all weekend, there will cake, sweets, possibly some alcohol and an awful lot of chatting but a jolly good time too.

Sorry for the quick post but trying to pack!!!!

Kittens and Penquin

I haven't been a very good blogger, I really don't know where the time as gone and I can't even say I've crochet a lot either.

I have been making a few small things for my Sister's Stall and finally I have sorted out my kitten ears the pink one is the latest and she has matching ears. My problems have been when I rejoin the yarn to other side I haven't been getting it quite right.  I read the pattern properly this time and took my time.

I've also had a go at this penquin although it looks like his feet don't quite touch the floor it looks Ok in real life but he was another quick make. I'm making another Sammy Seal but this time I may weight his body he keeps falling over on my desk.

Annoyed now I can't find the pattern for the kittens but here's the link for the penquin  the pattern called for Worsted wool I have no idea what that is but I've used scraps of DK and I like my amigurumi to be a very tight crochet so I've used a 3mm hook.

My bags are packed I've not got the kitchen sink but nearly my craft room is almost tidy but you wouldn't think I've taken anything out of it.

For Mum and Dad

Another new Christmas Mo image which will probably be a firm favourite along with many others. This sweet image is called Snowflakes although they seemed to be missing on my card.

Yes those papers are Doodlebug Polar Pals, I'm disappointed that all the paper companies have brought out designs mainly in traditional colours. The frame round my image is from MFT and those poinsettias are Simon Says Stamp Poinsettia Parade. The star is Memory Box I have had the die quite a while but they are called Star of Wonder.

There is a stitched scallop border but my image is hiding it so its not too obvious and I finished with a bit of lace and ribbon.

I will keep this card back and take it to Crematorium for my Mum and Dad when I lay a wreath.

Totally Resistible

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Halloween Inspiration Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

Totally Resistible

There are so many resist techniques that we can use! We will be looking forward to seeing what you use to resist!
This week we are showcasing Impression Obsession  Products  You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.
As always Simon Says Stamp will be giving away $50 voucher to shop at the fabulous Simon Says Stamp Store
50dollar_voucher_600px

So there I was adding white elements to my card, it was working toward an all white card when I decided to check my to do list when I realised there was a challenge element to add of resist.

Lucky for me it was easy to use the snowflakes from Simon Says Stamp Cute Snowflakes using Versamark and WOW bright White Embossing powder. I do recommend a dust buddy before
 stamping.

Using inkpad like Simon says stamp Audrey to colour in the white space to highlight my white snowflakes and then using a dry cloth, I have a duster for this purpose wipe over gently to wipe the ink of the snowflakes.

Now that I've done the resist part of the challenge I can continue with my scene using Simon Says stamp Hills and Slopes die and Impression Obsession Country Fences and I also used the Simon Says Stamp Stitched Rectangles.

Oh dear once again I used the Simon Says Stamps Christmas Toys sentiment, I think you know by now I absolutely love this sentiment.

Now my backing paper is from Lawn Fawn Perfectly Plain Winter Petite and I decided a corner needed to be decorated. I also have Impression Obsession Pine Branch, I wasn't paying attention and the first one I didn't release properly but it did give a spare small sprig to use with the whole one.

I finally finished with a poinsettia from Simon Says stamp Poinsettia Parade which also hide my pine leaves join.

I was really pleased how my card turned out just wish my photo taking skills were better.

So now it's YOUR turn.  Happy Crafting

Tabitha

Its difficult not to use cute images and Mo's Tabitha is definitely cute, I've used her for the new Everybody Art Challenge for Pumpkins which just happen included in the image.

The papers are Lawn Fawn Lets Polka in the Dark and I have a web stencil which once I used I then cut it out using a Stitched Rectangle.

I then cut out the MFT Picket Fence and laid it over my base image then I layered the image on top. Finally I though my web needed  spider and I used the Simon Says Stamp Not so Spooky stamp set and it had to have some goggly eyes added.

I believe I have one more Halloween card which was my fault but its not till next week then my blog is a Halloween free zone and into panic Christmas Cards!

Robin

So I'm thinking of quick Christmas cards with this cute robin from the Penny Black Jolly Critters set.

The robin was on a branch but I was using last weeks CAS(e) this sketch and it wasn't bigger enough to make a point. So I cut out the robin, holly and stocking to add to the Memory Box Woodland Branch die.

I used the Simon Say Stamp Bundle of Shapes to give the stitched border and then I embossed using their Falling Snow Stencil. Oh and not forgetting my favourite Christmas sentiment this year from Simon Says Stamp Christmas Toys.

I have a couple more robins coloured to make another couple of cards but I might not publish them since they may look exactly like this one.

Skating for Christmas

I've been trying to work out where I got the sketch from but I can't find it and I've probably modified it to suit the fabulous image from Mo Manning called Skater S.

There is also I new challenge on Mo's Challenge Blog is a very easy challenge since it Anything Goes so hope you can join us this month.

Yes that those Doodlebug Polar Pals papers, yes I still have some left, yes you will probably see it again.

Usual suspects used to make my card Simon Says Stamp Stitched Snowflakes, their Scallop Border and the stitched oval are theirs too. The ribbon is out of my stash and the sentiment is a LOTV and I used a square punch to make my fishtails.

I'm a bit gutted that the crop I was going to on Saturday has had to cancelled was looking forward to some crafty chat but I do have the Scrapbooking Retreat the following week. I'm in two minds to scrapbook this Saturday anyway or get in advance with card making especially I haven't been in my craft room this week.

wed-newchallenge-header

Hi all and welcome to another week on the Simon Says Stamp Wednesday Challenge
Thank you for joining us for the Anything Goes Challenge and we hope you will all join us again this week too.
We will be back soon with the name of the lucky winner of the $50 Voucher
This week the challenge is

Halloween Inspiration

the lovely Jenn Shurkus has made us this fabulous Inspiration Board to use. We don't necessarily have to make a Halloween creation, we can use the board however we like

This week we are showcasing our very own Simon Says Stamp Products  You don't have to use them for the challenge but if you have them we would love to see them used.

I vowed not to get into the Halloween Hype especially over here in the UK although the shops seemed to be convincing us we should. But I don't myself I wasn't going to buy anything special for it in the way of card making, so I had to think out of the box.

Yes I did buy some fall papers these ones are Echo Park Fall is in the Air and the side border I used Simon Says Stamp Scallop Stitches. I used Simon Says Stamp Stitched Ovals for my pumpkin. There are three all together and I inked round the edges to give them more depth.

Quick check to see if any of my Simon Says Stamps Halloween Stamps were still available and their Not so Spooky has this fabulous spider so he had to be used with some googly eyes. What I really got it out for was for the sentiment which I stamped the Halloween word and then cut it out using Simon Says Stamp Stitched Banners but I did cut it in two places to make it smaller and the join is under the pumpkin.

To finally finish I need a leaf which I used Simon Says Stamps Oh Happy Day stamp and die set and the Happy is from their Painted Happy Birthday die.

I love the sketch design which I will used again its from Splitcoast Stampers Card Sketch#612
